We have been bombarded with texts, messages and emails following the events of last night's XWA Goldrush asking us one question. How is Tom Lambert following his ordeal at the hands of 'The Bollywood Dream' RJ Singh? The answer is not good news for Tom's fans. Not good news at all...
Tom was taken to hospital immediately after his debut wrestling match, which ended in ugly scenes as RJ Singh delivered his finishing move Sweet Bollywood Dreams a total of FIVE times to the brave Tom, while his cousin - XWA owner Greg Lambert - simply stood by, watched, and did absolutely nothing to stop it. We know that Tom was kept in overnight, complaining of headaches, blurred vision, severe pain in his neck, arms and chest, and is not in good shape at all right now. Tom remains in hospital while doctors conduct a series of tests on him, and we will keep you updated with his condition when more news becomes available. Greg Lambert walked out of The Dome after Tom's match, did not attend the post-show celebrations to mark the end of wrestling at The Dome, and has not visited his cousin in hospital and, according to one source close to the Lambert family, has no intention of doing so. Backstage following the Goldrush show, there were scenes of utter bedlam and confusion among XWA wrestlers, officials and staff members, who were all talking about the Singh-Tom incident and speculating as to why Greg Lambert did not throw in the towel to save Tom from further punishment, when it was abundantly clear Tom was unconscious, had no chance of winning, no chance of fighting back and completely unable to defend himself. We can only speculate on Greg Lambert's state of mind, as to why he would fail to protect his cousin in his hour of need. He had the power to save Tom. He could have thrown the towel in at any point. But he chose not to. As soon as we know more on this shattering development in the XWA, we will bring it to you.
