Team RockStar did not have the best of nights at Goldrush - even though 'The RockStar' Spud somehow managed to weasel out of the show STILL the British Heavyweight Champion. Now Spud and his cronies continue to blame Sam Slam and want him banned from the XWA. And they say the evidence is mounting against 'The People's Champ'...
For starters, Team RockStar still blame Sam Slam for causing Spud's 'neck injury'. To add to this, they are now claiming that the bodyguard Juggernaut also suffered a mysterious injury at the hands of Sam Slam immediately prior to Goldrush, when they say Sam Slam jumped Juggernaut from behind in the car park and beat him so badly, he suffered a fractured skull and might never return to the XWA again. Team RockStar say that Sam Slam's continued presence creates an "unsafe working environment" in the XWA, and they fear for what he might do next. With Juggernaut out, Spud enlisted the services of a more than able replacement, the 400lb thing known as Cyanide, whose intervention at Goldrush saved Spud from certain defeat and helped him scoot out of The Dome with a cheap disqualification loss, still champion. Judging by Cyanide's utter domination of Sam on Saturday night, and later in the Goldrush when he squashed El Ligero, eliminated Jynx and Tiger Bailey with ease, and at one stage fought off six opponents single-handedly, it seems The RockStar has found himself another real monster to hide behind...erm...protect him from groupies. Unfortunately for Sam Slam, he failed to win the Goldrush and earn himself another shot at Spud. Despite eliminating the most opponents during the rumble, including an incredible feat of strength to dump Cyanide and gain a measure of revenge, the former champion was unluckily eliminated by an opportunistic RJ Singh just when it looked like he was on the verge of triumph. So with Sam now behind Johnny Phere and Stixx in the title shot pecking order, and with Team RockStar determined to continue to claim that Sam is a loose cannon who should be kicked out of the XWA, it looks like the future of the company's most popular star is very much in the balance.
