Axl Rage scored a shocking upset submission win over reigning champion 'The Manchester Devil' Declan O'Connor to lift the Best of the North West Cup last night at XWA Student Show III - The First Anniversary.
Fresh off being named the first ever winner of the British Wrestling Council Scarlo Scholarship for wrestling students, Rage capped an amazingly successful weekend by forcing the chirpy chav to tap out to his inverted figure-four leglock, the Raging Climax. Earlier the Blond Jovi member had attacked and destroyed the injured knee of his arch-rival Jynkz with the same move. This took Jynkz out of the scheduled three-way for the Best of the North West Cup. But instead of punishing his fellow Team RockStar member, XWA Academy Director Stallion took great delight in announcing the Cup match was now a singles contest. What's more, Stallion then abused his power further by interfering in the match. The Geordie maverick distracted referee 'Evil' Lewis Penney when O'Connor had Rage trapped in his Chav Clutch. It was an unpopular win for Axl Rage as his opponent Declan, who has not heard the fans' cheers since he turned on his former partner Joey Hayes last year, surprisingly had the XWA fans firmly behind him. But it certainly means that Team RockStar have reason to party as they add the Best of the North West Cup to the British Heavyweight Title already held by 'The RockStar' Spud. In other news from the Student Show, it was a night of revenge for 15-year-old XWA student Luke Future. Luke, the personal assistant of XWA Academy Director Stallion, has been embarrassed and belittled by his overbearing boss on every single Student Show so far. This bullying continued last night, as the power-mad Stallion humiliated Luke by forcing him to sweep the Regent Park Studios floor and then handed him some polish and a cloth to clean his office. Later, when XWA head trainer Dave Rayne and Aaron Inferno needed a partner for their six-person tag match against Ace's Diamonds, Dave brought Luke down to the ring. But just as Luke was on the verge of winning the match for his team, Stallion emerged and ordered Luke to get out of the ring and return to his menial duties. This caused Luke's team to lose when the powerful Rossion powerslammed Inferno for the win. Then at the end of the night, as Blond Jovi and Stallion celebrated with their new Cup, Stallion demanded that Luke come down again so he could give the Cup a good clean. The embarassment continued as Stallion forced Luke to put on a pair of marigolds and handed him more polish, then ordered him to pick up the cup and shine it until he could see his face in it. But Luke couldn't take any more. He picked up the cup all right, but rammed it hard into Stallion's portly stomach to a massive cheer from the fans! More power to Luke for finally standing up to Stallion, but by the look on the XWA Academy Director's face, Stallion is not the kind of person to just let this go....
