Jynkz targets War on the Shore for comeback
Thursday, 25 February 2010 08:30

The XWA's most mysterious new young star is recovering well from a knee injury and hopes to be back in action by the time of XWA War on the Shore. But will Jynkz even get the opportunity to compete on Saturday April 3 at the XWA's biggest show of the year?

Jynkz made a spectacular debut at Goldrush, joining forces with El Ligero to eliminate Axl Rage and JD Sassoon from the Goldrush rumble in front of his home town fans in Morecambe, and received a rapturous reception from the crowd.

But the night turned sour for the Warpainted Wonder when the monstrous Cyanide dumped him over the top rope. On landing on the hard wooden Dome floor, Jynkz twisted his knee and suffered sprained ligaments.

Jynkz spent a good 15 minutes lying in pain before he was eventually able to limp to the backstage area. But despite having to visit hospital, this courageous athlete was prepared to brave his bad knee and was itching to challenge for the Best of the North West Cup just one week later, at XWA Student Show III.

Any plans Jynkz may have had of fighting through the pain and perhaps lifting the Cup went up in smoke, however, at the hands of his perennial rival Axl Rage. The Blond Jovi rocker attacked Jynkz at the Student Show, wrapped him in his Raging Climax inverted figure-four leglock, worsening the knee injury and ensuring that Jynkz would be in no fit state to wrestle. This left the path clear for Rage to defeat reigning champion Declan O'Connor and lift the Best of the North West Cup for Team RockStar.

Since then, little has been heard from Jynxz, a young man we still know so little about. The Morecambe-based mystery man is very much a lone wolf who keeps himself to himself, and who spends much of his time away from wrestling locked away practicing the deeply spiritual art of Acro Yoga.

We understand that regular yoga sessions are paying dividends for Jynxz and his knee is healing quicker than anticipated. There is a very good chance that the 21-year-old rookie could be fully fit by the time XWA War on the Shore VI comes around on Saturday, April 3 at The Carleton.

At this stage, there is no indication that Jynkz will be selected to compete at the XWA's biggest show of the year, even if he is medically cleared to wrestle. But we at the XWA website hope this talented young athlete gets his chance to compete in front of the Morecambe fans once again, especially seeing how they responded to his high-octane, risk-taking style at Goldrush.

As the XWA is very much the place to see the next generation of the British Wrestling scene, we think it would be highly appropriate if Jynkz was able to compete at the XWA's breakout show at their new venue.

After all, Jynkz is the future, the XWA is the future, and The Future is Now!
